It connects the extinguisher discharge head with the piping. The lugs function is to prevent the connection untwisting once it has been hand-tightened with the correct torque. This lug inversion could give the illusion of correct torque whereas the affected parts are not properly connected.Loose connection could lead to loss of the fire extinguishing system integrity and therefore inability to ensure the adequate agent concentration. In combination with an engine fire event, it could result in a temporary uncontrolled engine fire, which constitutes an unsafe condition. |\n\n| | To restore connection integrity, this AD requires a one time general visual inspection of the affected nut assembly to detect and correct any wrong orientation of lugs. |\n| --- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |\n\n![](image.001.png) \nJames Coyne \nDelegate of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority\n\n6 November 2008","sortOrder":0},{"sectionNumber":"AD/A330/94","sectionType":"part","heading":"AD/A330/94","content":"## AD/A330/94","sortOrder":1},{"sectionNumber":"Engine Fire Extinguishing Bottle Connect","sectionType":"part","heading":"Engine Fire Extinguishing Bottle Connection","content":"## Engine Fire Extinguishing Bottle Connection","sortOrder":2},{"sectionNumber":"13/2008","sectionType":"part","heading":"13/2008","content":"## 13/2008","sortOrder":3}],"analysis":{"flash_summary":{"complexity_score":3,"scope_assessment":{"changed":false,"description":"The directive is a remedial, one‑time measure limited to the identified A330 models/serial numbers and the specified assembly nut.
