The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.\n\nAirbus Industrie A330 Series Aeroplanes\n\nAD/A330/6 Emergency Door 3 Type I \\- Escape Slide\n\nParachute Pin\n\n \n13/2002\n\nApplicability: Model A330-201, \\-202, \\-203, \\-223, \\-243, \\-301, \\-321, \\-322, \\-323, \\-341, \\-342, and \\-343\n\naircraft; equipped with escape slide part number 7A1509-101 through \\-117, serial numbers AD001 through AD0855, at the door 3 Type I exit.\n\nRequirement: Action in accordance with the requirements of DGAC AD 2001-359(B) R3.\n\nNote: Airbus All Operator Telex (AOT) A330-25A3154 refers.\n\nCompliance: As specified in the Requirement document, with a revised effective date of 26 December 2002.\n\nThis Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 26 December 2002.\n\nBackground: During an escape slide deployment test, a door 3 Type I slide did not deploy.\n\nInvestigation revealed an incorrect installation of the slide parachute pin, and if not corrected, a slide non-deployment would prevent egress of passengers from the affected left and right doors during an emergency evacuation. This Directive also requires adjustment of the slide soft cover speed lacing.\n\n![](image.002.jpeg) \n\nDavid Alan Villiers\n\nDelegate of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority 6 November 2002\n\n![](image.001.png) \n\nThe above AD is notified in the Commonwealth of Australia Gazette on 4 December 2002.\n\n \nPage 1 of 1","sortOrder":0}],"analysis":{"flash_summary_failed":{"failed":true,"reason":"Unauthenticated.
