The cracking was found during a scheduled maintenance check. An inspection performed on another aircraft of similar age identified similar damage. Such cracking, if not detected and corrected, could lead to overloading of adjacent ribs and the surrounding wing structure and affect the structural integrity of the wing.Amendment 1 decreased the Wing Rib 6 inspection threshold, introduced SBA330-57-3087 or MOD 53882, and clarified hard/overweight landing inspection requirements.Amendment 2 was issued in response to a new DGAC AD, which deletes a grace period which is no longer relevant, and mandates modification of Wing Rib 6 by installation of a reinforcing plate on wings not already repaired in accordance with repair solution R572-57023 or R572-57026. |\n\n| | Amendment 3 is issued to amend the applicability to exclude aircraft which have had a new Rib 6 (aft) on both wings installed in production through incorporation of AIRBUS modification 54432. |\n| --- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |\n\n![](image.001.png) \nDavid Villiers \nDelegate of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority\n\n24 May 2007","sortOrder":0},{"sectionNumber":"AD/A330/45 Amdt 3","sectionType":"part","heading":"AD/A330/45 Amdt 3","content":"## AD/A330/45 Amdt 3","sortOrder":1},{"sectionNumber":"Wing Rib 6","sectionType":"part","heading":"Wing Rib 6","content":"## Wing Rib 6","sortOrder":2},{"sectionNumber":"7/2007","sectionType":"part","heading":"7/2007","content":"## 7/2007","sortOrder":3}],"analysis":{"flash_summary_failed":{"failed":true,"reason":"A positive credit balance is required for all requests, including BYOK, so fallback providers remain available.
