aircraft, corrosion was found on the upper surface of the wing lower skin panel No. 1, inside the right hand inboard dry bay. Inspection of the affected area is covered by MRB Report, Revision 11, by SSI task 572061-01-1. This requirement is transferred to the MRBR Zonal Inspection Programme, and the MRBR access requirements for zonal tasks ZL-540-02-1 and ZL-640-02-1 includes removing the affected access panels. It was discovered that the affected access panels had been omitted from the associated AMM task until the August 2001 revision.Amendment 1 is issued in response to a revision of the related EASA AD, which amends applicability and details an alternative method of compliance. |\n\n![](image.001.png) \nDavid Villiers \nDelegate of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority\n\n9 October 2007","sortOrder":0},{"sectionNumber":"AD/A320/205 Amdt 1","sectionType":"part","heading":"AD/A320/205 Amdt 1","content":"## AD/A320/205 Amdt 1","sortOrder":1},{"sectionNumber":"Wing Dry Bay Skin","sectionType":"part","heading":"Wing Dry Bay Skin","content":"## Wing Dry Bay Skin","sortOrder":2},{"sectionNumber":"12/2007","sectionType":"part","heading":"12/2007","content":"## 12/2007","sortOrder":3}],"analysis":{"flash_summary":{"complexity_score":6,"scope_assessment":{"changed":true,"description":"Amendment 1 narrows and clarifies the affected fleet and methods: it revises applicability to capture aircraft where zonal MRBR tasks were done without panel removal, adds an alternative compliance route, and lists exemptions for aircraft with later MRBR/ALI tasks or deliveries after 27 March 2007 (Background; Applicability)."},"complexity_factors":["Conditional applicability tied to multiple MRBR task versions (ZL-540-02, ZL-640-02, ZL-540-02-1, ZL-540-02-2) requiring careful record checks (Applicability).","Exemptions for aircraft where later AMM/MRBR or specific ALI/MRBR tasks were performed, creating negative applicability rules (Applicability).","Cross-reference to EASA AD 2007-0064R1 and Airbus Service Bulletin A320-57-1121 (Requirement) — operators must follow an external document for the substantive actions.","Alternative method of compliance introduced by amendment, requiring interpretation and possible approval (Background).","Operational burden: removal of specific access panels (540CZ/540DZ/640CZ/640DZ) and possible repair work increases man-hours, downtime and cost for operators (Applicability, Background).","Temporal and record-keeping issues: effective dates and historic MRBR/AMM revisions affect whether individual aircraft are captured (Applicability; 'No action required' note regarding deliveries after 27 Mar 2007).","Potential for inspection/maintenance practice ambiguity because the MRBR, AMM and ALI task indexes interact and must be reconciled by maintenance organisations (Background, Applicability)."],"plain_english_summary":"Requires operators of A319/A320/A321 aeroplanes to perform specific inspections and any needed repairs to the right-hand inboard wing dry bay skin where prior MRBR zonal tasks were done but access panels were not removed.
